    Áine Uí Bheoláin, as Cathair Dónal ó dúchas agus ina cónaí í Bunavalla.

    Táim ag obair le Comhchoiste Ghaeltacht Uíbh Ráthaigh ó 2005 agus mar bainisteoir ó 2017. Táim mar baill Coiste na hÉigse le blianta fada anuas. 

    Is eagraíocht forbairt pobail é CGUR agus an príomh sprioc atá againn ná chur chun cinn na an Ghaeilge agus an Ghaeltacht in Uíbh Ráthach.

  • Aoibheann Lambe

    CO-CHAIR

    Is í Aoibheann an tOifigeach Turasóireachta Pobail Ghaeltacht Uíbh Ráthach.

    Since moving to the Kerry Gaeltacht, Aoibheann has developed a love of archaeology (becoming an archaeologist and a specialist in rock art) and of the Kerry Dark Sky. Committed to public engagement, Aoibheann manages various social media and web-based platforms.

  • Dr Eoin O'Neill

    HISTORIAN AND GUIDE

    From his home on Valentia Island, Eoin runs the YouTube channel Foras Feasa: Exploring Irish History and has recently set up A Sense of Place, to give historical walks in Valentia and the South Kerry region. He did his doctorate on state formation and the Nine Years War (1594-1603).

  • Clodagh Cahill

    EVENT PLANNER

    Marketer Clodagh has returned to Valentia Island after time spent working and travelling abroad. With a background in PR, she is passionate about sustainable tourism and the Iveragh Peninsula.  She was the driving force behind the establishment of the Skellig Coast Dark Sky Festival while involved in the marketing and public communications of the LIVE project.

  • Michael Sheehan

    DARK SKY GUIDE

    Michael Sheehan is a founding member of the Caherdaniel Dark Sky Group and a member of the core team responsible for Kerry's Gold Tier International Dark Sky Reserve award by Dark Sky International in 2014. Michael is fascinated by astronomy and is a keen astrophotographer.

  • Mary McGillicuddy

    TOUR GUIDE

    Mary McGillycuddy is an approved National Tour Guide and hiker with QuietAdventures.ie.   An Irish speaker and plant enthusiast, she volunteers with Killarney Mountain Meitheal and is interested in the natural world. This year her travels will take her to Scotland, Wales, Austria, France and Switzerland. 

  • Dee O'Shea

    ENVIRONMENTAL & SUSTAINABILITY OFFICER

    Dee O’Shea is a natural scientist who is committed to the protection of the natural environment and to promoting its regeneration. As our Environmental and Sustainability Officer, Dee has introduced the festival’s no-plastic policy and advises on our role in practicing and promoting actions that lower emissions and pollution of any kind.

  • Lucy Taylor

    WEBSITE MANAGER

    Lucy’s background includes marine science, education, writing, communications, community engagement, project management and research. She is passionate about celebrating and valuing Ireland’s natural heritage. She co-authored Ireland’s Seashores - A Field Guide and manages the Discover Iveragh website voluntarily.

    As manager of the Dromid centre which has a hostel (with en suite double rooms), a café, business units, remote working facilities with high speed broadband (gteic) and is both in the heart of the Gaeltacht and the core of the Dark Sky Reserve (with high spec telescopes for visitor use), stargazers are most welcome.
